This is a 10 week unit of work designed to teach informative texts in the early years. It follows a simple approach where students are heavily scaffolded in order to achieve success as beginning writers. It focuses on:
- Distinguishing between fact/fiction
- Labelling drawings
- Using a simple repetitive structure (with icons to assist with further scaffolding) to write about appearance, diet and habitat.
Support and extension options are included for every lesson.
