These phonics task cards are a great kindergarten phonics game. Students will consolidate early letter sound knowledge and phonics skills as they use alphabet manipulatives to build CVCC and CCVC words using all 5 short vowel sounds.

 This resource includes 2 different versions:
  • 20 x full-sized mats with 5 words to a page- over 100 different CVCC and CCVC words, sorted by vowel sound (short vowel a, short vowel e, short vowel i, short vowel o and short vowel u)
  • Individual task cards
 Ideas for use:
  • Place in write and wipe mats, and write the sounds with a whiteboard marker
  • Use with magnetic letters or other alphabet manipulatives
